We Believe in Our Community!

At Ravalli County Credit Union, we believe in “People Helping People”, we believe in better banking, and we believe in creating beneficial, life-long, financial relationships for our members and community. As a credit union member, you can take pride in knowing you are part of something bigger. Throughout the year, Ravalli County Credit Union volunteers, sponsors, and donates to local non-profits and schools to enrich the lives of those in our community.

Better Future, Better Life

Annually, Ravalli County Credit Union selects one graduating High School Senior to receive our $3,000 Member Scholarship. To be eligible, graduating seniors must be a member of Ravalli County Credit Union for at least one year. We look for a student who has excelled in their academic studies, volunteers in the community and participates in school activities.

Since 2016, Ravalli County Credit Union has awarded $27,000 in scholarships to eight deserving graduating seniors in Ravalli County. Congratulations to all scholarship recipients. We wish you the best of luck!

The Giving Tree

One of our favorite holidays is Thanksgiving and we love collaborating with our members to ensure that people in our community receive a turkey dinner. We buy the turkeys and members donate the “fixins” from shopping lists on our “Giving Tree”.

In 2023, we were able to feed 91 local families!

Wincentive Savings Accounts (WSA)

WINcentive Savings offers prize drawing entries in return for each time you increase your savings balance by $25 (up to 4 entries per month). Prize drawings occur monthly, quarterly and annually – so the more you save, the more chances you have to win! You could even end up winning the grand prize of $5,000!

Ravalli County Credit Union is 1 of 8 Credit Union’s in the State of Montana offering WSA accounts. We also have a monthly in-house $100 drawing specifically for our members.

In 2023, our members won a total of $8,250 – just for saving!

Great Rates, Great Cause

Annually, we tie a local food drive in with our Summer Loan Promotion. Our Hamilton location collects for Haven House and our Florence location collects for Pantry Partners.

With your help, Ravalli County Credit Union donated the following:

  • 558 pounds of cereal and canned/boxed food to Haven House
  • 194 pounds of cereal and canned/boxed food to Pantry Partners

Casual For a Cause

In an effort to give back to our community, Ravalli County Credit Union has implemented Casual for A Cause (CFAC). CFAC is on the first Friday of each month and is a time when staff may wear jeans to work for a minimum donation of $5.00 to a local non-profit.

We began CFAC in April 2022 and have donated $3,560 to local non-profits throughout the Bitterroot.

VITA is a volunteer Income Tax Assistance program that offers free tax preparation and e-filing for people who generally make $60,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers in our community. Ravalli County Credit Union is the only credit union in the state of MT offering this service.

This year, VITA volunteers processed 91 tax returns. BIG thank you to our volunteers for making the 2023 tax season a success!

Our 66th Annual Meeting was held on Thursday, September 14 at the Credit Union with 90 members in attendance. The meeting began with a speech given by Barrie Smith, Board Chair, followed by a speech from Ravalli County Credit Union’s CEO, Darci Parsons. Meeting attendees enjoyed dinner provided by UpNSmokin BBQ and were given raffle tickets to win prizes throughout the evening.

The Credit Union also had two Board positions open for the 2023 Board of Directors Election. Congratulations to Vinod Nair and Clarence Ferguson. Both candidates were elected for an additional three- year term on the Ravalli County Credit Union Board of Directors.

International Credit Union (ICU) Day has been celebrated annually since 1948. It’s a time when we celebrate the credit union movement of People Helping People.

In 2022, the theme was: Empower your financial future with a credit union. Since October is also Domestic Violence Awareness month, Ravalli County Credit Union partnered with SAFE. Staff members were assigned shifts to volunteer at the SAFE facility painting and sprucing up their children’s play center.
